‘Increase in patient numbers’ sees Kirton vets apply for extension

A veterinary surgery wants to expand its facilities due to an ‘increase in patient numbers’.

Kirton-based Allen, Briggs & Turner has applied to build an extension at its Boston Road business, adding the move would ‘improve the site setting’.

Plans show the extension would include six new rooms to the rear of the site; three theatres, dental room, kennels for in-patients and cold storage.

The vet practice sits on 0.3 acres of land, combining two buildings, the single-storey number 34 which includes the retail area and staff offices and number 36, a two-storey property which is the main building for the veterinary facilities.

“The extension will make use of area of land to the rear of number 36 that is currently unused other than storage sheds, it will also mean facilities will be house and access more easier reducing the need to exit the building and improved circulation between rooms for staff members,” the statement added.
