South Holland District Council say investigations into graffiti spate continues

Investigations are continuing into a spate of graffiti which has blighted Spalding town centre.

Unsightly graffiti tags have been daubed over the former Calthrops building in Market Place and also on the White Horse in Churchgate in recent weeks, prompting an investigation by South Holland District Council.

Organiser of Spalding Flower Parade Stephen Timewell has teamed up with street artist Karl Barfoot to cover over the messy graffiti tags on the former Calthrops site with a floral themed artwork ready for the big day.

A council spokesman said: “Investigations into the recent graffiti at the former Calthorps site are ongoing. Once investigations have been concluded the council will release any information relating to this matter that it can.

“In the meantime, the council would encourage all local residents to please report graffiti and other forms of anti-social behaviour by contacting 01775 761161 or email info@sholland.gov.uk with the location, nature of the graffiti and the details of the person(s) responsible, if known.”

We have asked the council if the town’s new high-tech CCTV cameras – which were installed in 2022 as part of a £400,000 project – had captured footage of the vandal but this was not answered.
