Spalding councillor says compares overgrown weeds in The Crescent to Jurassic Park

Parts of the town centre were so overgrown with weeds that they have been compared to a scene from the dinosaur movie, Jurassic Park.

Coun Aaron Spencer is once again hoping to organise a group of volunteers to help clear up The Crescent in Spalding.

Large weeds can be seen growing out of the pavements near some of the buildings in one of the town’s main shopping areas - making it look untidy once more.

Speaking at a recent Spalding Town Forum meeting, Coun Spencer said: “Walking to work (in The Crescent) at the moment feels like walking in Jurassic Park as it’s so over grown again.”

He added that he was happy to work with volunteers to tidy up the area but wondered if there could be something more official put in place to ensure that town remains tidy going forward.

Coun Spencer added: “Whether that is something that the town forum consider take on? We need to look into it if we are talking about improving the town again.”
