Villagers enjoyed Fleet fete

Smiles were seen all around as villagers enjoyed a popular fete.

Fleet Parish Council organised the recent event which included a dog show, car show along with performances by the Spalding Ukekele Orchestra and Phoenix Theatre.

Deputy Flower Queen Bryony Mann got her hands dirty during the fete by taking part in a tug of war competition.

The event also included a bouncy castle, refreshments along with a number of stalls.

Coun Paul Barnes, who is chairman of the parish council and also represents the village at South Holland District Concil said: “Holbeach ATC did us proud once again - providing a lot more to the event than just burgers and hot dogs - although of course these had to be sampled for quality control purposes

“I don't normally single people out for thanks - as the event is a team effort - but personal thanks to Geoff Donley for organising the car show and the parish clerk - Robyn Negus - who once again went "above and beyond"

“We did have a slight breeze - but the rain held off and there were lots of smiles around the field

“Thanks to everyone who organised, supported and attended and hopefully we will see you all again on June 7, 2026.”
