Gedney Dyke man accused of assaulting firefighter in Holbeach

A man who is accused of assaulting a firefighter at the scene of a serious blaze will stand trial.

Jay Power, 32, of Roman Bank, Gedney Dyke, has been charged with assaulting Edvinas Noreikis in Hall Gate, Holbeach, on New Year’s Day.

Firefighters were called out twice to two properties in Hall Gate which were destroyed in a blaze, caused by a firework.

Mr Power has denied the assault charge when he appeared at Boston Magistrates Court earlier today (Wednesday, October 29) and has opted to stand trial at Lincoln Crown Court.

He was released on conditional bail and will appear at the crown court on November 26.
