Man injured after crash near Whaplode St Catherine

A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries following a crash.

Police are reported to have closed the notorious Saturday Bridge, near Whaplode St Catherine, yesterday (Thursday, May 28) evening.

The road has been shut from the junction of the B1168 and the B1165 on Ravens Bank during the incident.

A force statement said: “This was a two-vehicle collision reported to us at 5.08pm yesterday (28 May).

“A man was taken to hospital with reported serious injuries. Investigations are ongoing.”

Saturday Bridge has been the location of a number of accidents over the years with Holbeach Parish Council previously calling to reduce the speed limit around the site.
