Spalding trader hits out at Lincolnshire Police after spending 25 minutes on phone to report man injecting penis outside Lloyds Bank in Hall Place
A man was seen injecting into his penis in Spalding town centre this morning – as traders have called for action to tackle drug taking and anti-social behaviour.
Trader Sharla Slayven has hit out at police after spending more than 25 minutes on the phone trying to report the incident which happened outside Lloyds Bank at 7.45am today.
Last night, retailers and publicans voiced concerns about the anti-social behaviour during a crunch meeting, organised by Spalding Business Board, to help boost the fortunes of the town.
Mrs Slayven has been forced to bring in private security to protect her business, The Shoppe, following a brawl in the street and threats being made to rob her site.
Police had requested that people report incidents of anti-social behaviour to them after concerns about the state of the town centre were raised.
She said: “I think it is disgusting. People are seeing an addict inject into his penis.
“This happened outside Lloyds Bank and he is clearly injecting into his penis.
“I was told by Lincolnshire Police that they need to be informed of incidents and so far it has taken me 25 minutes to get through – I should be running a business.
“It has taken far too long.”
We have approached Lincolnshire Police for a comment.
