Spalding Comicon to welcome Harry Potter, Doctor Who and Red Dwarf stars

Fans of sci-fi, superheroes and iconic movies will be in for a treat this weekend, as comicon returns for another jam packed weekend.

This year’s event will welcome a star of Harry Potter, Game of Thrones and Doctor Who, David Bradley, among other special guests at Springfields Events Centre on Saturday, October 18.

Coinciding with the arrival of the Back to the Future DeLorean car, Spalding Comicon has launched a cosplay competition for guests.

Winners will receive a hoverboard prize worth around £200 – just make sure to show up in your best Back to the Future inspired costume for a chance to win.

The competition is sponsored by The Retro Retreat in King’s Lynn.

Among the attractions will be the return of Falling Starr Wrestling, whose grapplers will put on live matches to wow the crowds during the day.

Other activities on Saturday include professional photo sessions with special guests and panel talks.

The line up for special guests appearing over the weekend also include actor, Sylvester McCoy and Sophie Aldred — the Seventh Doctor and Ace from Doctor Who — and comedian and actress Hattie Hayridge of Red Dwarf, as well as many more.

On Sunday (October 19) there will be an inaugural card show offering trading card fans a treat with lots of prizes up for grabs.

Browse around more than 200 vendor tables featuring clothing, collectables and unique handmade cosplay accessories. There will also be a balloon artist and special guests.
