New Indian restaurant to open in Spalding this week

A new restaurant will open later this week.

Curry will be on the menu as Jashir Indian Restaurant opens its doors in Spalding tomorrow (Thursday June 6), taking over the former Lincolnshire Poacher pub on Double Street.

News that the Oakham-based restaurant and wine bar is opening a second venue appears to have spiced things up for restaurant goers in South Holland with the opening three nights all fully booked.

“Myself as head chef and owner, I keep my eye on everything all day, 24 hours a day,” owner and head chef Nilesh Patel.

“Everything passes through me, so I make sure the food has that quality taste.

The Poacher has been shut since December, although previous owner Cameron Bean had initially hoped to re-open in the new year.
