New riverside seating, which overlooks the River Welland in Spalding, is now complete
New riverside seating, which was installed as part of a revamp project for Spalding, has now been completed.
As part of the £250k plan to improve the riverside and town centre, a new seating area, which overlooks the River Welland, is open for use.
Alongside this, new wooden planters outside Boston College on Red Lion Street, have also been completed — while planters have already been unveiled in Hall Place.
On top of this, the Spalding Reconnected: Historic Town & Riverside project has used Lottery Heritage money to improve and promote the river and surrounding areas.
The project, that emerged from the Spalding Town Centre Improvement Programme, has been developed in partnership between South Holland District Council, Heritage Lincolnshire, Transported Arts, East Mercia Rivers Trust and Lincolnshire County Council with plans including the installation of new waymarkers, signage and trails, community artwork installations, river-based environmental initiatives.
