Turtle Splash Swim School launched at Church View House in Weston

A swimming instructor has taken the plunge and opened up a new swim school.

Nicole Ashby (33) recently launched Turtle Splash Swim School at Church View House in Weston, a private building with a swimming pool that was converted during lockdown and rented out.

Mrs Ashby, who lives in Spalding, decided to leave her previous job to dive into her new venture.

She said: “I had that feeling all of a sudden to just go for it.”

The swim school aims to teach four children at a time in the 8m x 3.5m pool.

“We offer small lessons with no more than four children in the pool at a time to ensure children get a more intimate swimming lesson experience and since we opened it has gone incredibly well with one-to-one lessons.

“I especially wanted to teach children with additional needs as the pool is not loud with no disruption.

“There will be myself and another fully qualified teacher working from the pool, and we welcome children from one to seven years. There will be two teachers at all times with a maximum of four children in the pool.”

Although there are no changing facilities at the venue, children can arrive ‘swim ready’ and change into a onesie once their lesson is finished.

The school is open from 4pm until 7pm on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday with a view of opening on more days of the week.
