Spalding Parish Church to host open air carol service this Sunday
People in Spalding who want to celebrate the Christmas season at a traditional carol service can do so this Sunday.
St Mary and St Nicolas Church, in The Vista, is hosting and open air carol service this Sunday (December 20) at 5pm.
Music from the church organ will be relayed to the public outside and readers will have a microphone to use, while standing in the west door entrance.
The Rev John Bennett, vicar of Spalding, said: "This will be the only occasion when members of the congregation will be able to sing carols at church as, this year, the current restrictions do not allow them to sing inside.
"The forecast for next week is for the weather to be warmer and we just hope it will also stay dry.
"I have missed singing over recent months and by this time, in most years, I have enjoyed taking part in several carol services.
"I am really looking forward to Sunday evening when we can all join in telling the Christmas story with characters and carols."
