‘Mad and chaotic’ international cat show at Springfields Events Centre in Spalding, went down a storm for visitors
The organisers of an international cat show have described the latest event as ‘chaotic and mad’…and are already looking forward to the next one.
Claire and Stefen Winman, hosted the ‘Feline Fine In The Summertime’ TiCats and Cakes event at Springfields Events and Conference Centre in Spalding, over the weekend.
The popular show flies in judges from across the world to Spalding, and this year it attracted Laura Cunningham and Laurie Patton from the USA, Steven Corneille from France, Amy Stadter from Germany and Maria Bunina from the UK.
Stefen Winman said: “It was great and we are absolutely delighted with how it went. It was our first summer show and this was a bit of a gamble because a lot of the long haired cats are out of coat, but we still had a really good turnout.
“We are exhausted. It was chaotic and madness but was really good. There were more than 150 cats at the event and it was really busy with visitors too. Everybody I spoke to was having a good time and many people have got into contact with us to ask when the next one will be.
“It’s something we’ve been organising since 2019 and Springfields is a really great venue for us and it’s defiantly growing locally.
“The meet the breeds area went down really well, as people were able to physically stroke cats, talk to breeders and owners and learn more about each individual breed. The cat agility was like hearding fish, it was great fun – it made it all worthwhile.”
Some of the vendors who attended the event include, Jackalope Joe Coffee Co, Happy Kitty Blankets, TT Luxury Cat Towers, Percy and Pye, Little Munchies UK and many more.
The ‘Best In Show’ title was awarded on Sunday, to the Supreme Grand Champion Overear ‘The Final Storm’, Chocolate American Curl Longhair.
