Spalding beauty salon staff devastated after break-in
Staff were left heartbroken after a break-in at their beauty salon just two days after it opened.
JK Beauty Salon in Spalding was broken into between last Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, with all cosmetic stock stolen and a laptop taken.
With no CCTV or witnesses to come forward, owner Joanna Kuziemkowski was left ‘devastated’.
The salon has operated on Double Street for nine years, but recently moved into new premises next door as part of an expansion. Last Monday was their first day open.
Andzelika Cierpich, an assistant stylist at the salon, said: “Joanna called me straight away in the morning crying. It was horrible.
“We were in shock, we didn’t expect that. She has had the business for nine years and nothing like that has happened before.
“It was her dream to open the clinic and she’s been working so hard to make it come true, and someone has destroyed it.
“We can fix the glass, we can sort the mess, but this will always stay with us. Even when we’re at home now, we wonder if everything is okay. Is the place safe, is anything going to happen like that again?”
A GoFundMe appeal was set up by Malgosia Szyszka to assist JK Beauty Salon after the break-in.
As of yesterday, £2,360 had been raised of a £3,000 target.
“We have got good people around who are trying to help us,” Mrs Cierpich said.
“We just opened and we invest all the money we can here, and it was a fresh start for us.
“We are very thankful to people. We really appreciate it. If you do good things for people, this comes back to you one day.”
A Lincolnshire Police spokesperson said: “The store had been broken into at some point overnight. Windows were smashed and damage caused. Electrical items (laptop and tablet) and cosmetics were stolen.”
Anyone with information that could help the police investigation should call 101 with incident reference number 83 of February 2.
