Shoppers were able to snap up a popular brand at bargain prices to raise money for a good cause.

A Joules Seconds Sale took place at Moulton Chapel Youth and Community Centre selling discounted items from the fashionable range - with proceeds going towards funding new gym equipment.

More than 100 people turned up to buy clothing and homeware and the sale raised £670, which will help extend the centre’s play area and pay for the new equipment.

Nicola Smith, centre treasurer, said: “ We did a similar event five years ago and it was very popular.

“The funds go towards the community centre and gym equipment for the older children to use.

“People went home with big bags of bargains.”

The extended area and new equipment could cost up to £10,000 and the committee raises funds by hiring out the centre.

Funds were raised to the tune of £30,000 some five years ago which provided the existing equipment that can be updated.

A night of bingo is planned on Tuesday, December 10 at the centre to raise further funds and people can turn up on the door.
