Activate! fun for all the family
Families have flocked to the first two of the summer holidays' Activate! events.
Organised by South Holland District Council, Activate! is a series of activity days for children and young people in the summer and events have already taken place in Holbeach and Crowland.
These family fun days are designed to give children and their families the opportunity to try sports and arts activities within their local community, giving them something to do during the school holidays.
Activities include a climbing wall, rowing machines, garden games, arts and crafts activities, mobile skate park and sports activities with Positive Futures and 1Life.
Still to come are days at the Pinchbeck Library and Community Hub (today, Thursday), Sutton Bridge Memorial Park on Wednesday, August 22 and Gosberton House School on Wednesday, August 29.
Coun Gary Taylor, portfolio holder for communities and facilities, said: “Our ‘Activate!’ days are off to a fantastic start, with almost 1,200 people coming down to try a new sport or activity across the first two events in Holbeach and Crowland. "It’s been great to see families choosing to spend their whole day with us and everyone joining in and taking part."
