Police investigate reports of Toyota Hilux aiming a firearm at cattle in Fleet




Police are investigating after receiving reports of hare coursers aiming a firearm at a popular herd of cattle.

People in a silver Toyota Hilux were seen aiming what appeared to be a rifle at the Highland cattle in Fleet Road, Fleet Hargate, at 8.39am on last night (Tuesday, July 1).

The cattle are a popular with people in Fleet Hargate who often stop to admire them.

A police statement said: “It was reported to us at 8.39pm that the occupants of a vehicle was seen aiming what appeared to be a rifle towards cattle in a field in the Fleet area.

“The vehicle left the area. While officers were searching for the grey pick up a further call came in reporting hare coursing in the Holbeach area, involving the same vehicle.

“No injuries to cattle have been reported and our inquiries continue. No arrests have been made at this time.”
