Spalding murder probe police name victim




Police who launched a murder investigation in Spalding yesterday (Monday) have named the victim as 42-year-old Darren Kirk, from the town.

They have also named a man injured in a separate attack as Mark Stone (46), and he remains in hospital with serious injuries.

A 45-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. He remains in custody and is still being questioned.

Police received a report that a man had suffered serious injuries at a property in Cygnet Court at 1.10am on Monday and Mr Kirk was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers are linking this incident with another serious assault at an address in Bowditch Road in which Mr Stone also suffered serious injuries. That incident was reported at 12.26am on Monday.
