Holbeach Beer and Music Festival celebrates a surprise proposal at successful event
There were celebrations all round as this popular music festival celebrated its tenth anniversary - and there was a surprise live proposal on stage.
Holbeach Beer and Music Festival welcomed thousands of people over the weekend, after returning for another successful event.
Following the previously soggy year in 2023, organisers were happy to see the brighter weather, which put everyone in good form. Organiser Sean Taylor said: “This year the weather was a lot better so we had crowds of thousands turn up and everyone was enjoying themselves.
“We had a new arena layout and DJ stage to entertain people whilst the main stage acts were changing over, and everyone was just in really good form.
“It was a really good festival and we were quite overwhelmed, especially as we were celebrating our tenth year – it made it really special to remember.”
Love was also in the air on Saturday night, as drummer from the band Delfinia, Carl Sheldrick, proposed to girlfriend, Candice Clarkson, on stage in front of a live audience.
Sean added: “It was our first ever proposal and it was a very special moment. It was quite emotional and everyone was clapping and whooping – it was a good feeling.
“Everyone was buzzing and we kept getting asked when the next one will be – there were lots of memories made and we are definitely hoping to do another one next year.”
Some of the bands who played at the event included, Blondie tribute by Blondied, River City Hustle, Taylor Swift tribute by Katy Ellis, Hip Hop Hooray, Zillion Dead Rabbitz, The Knottleys, Young Elton tribute show, Hydro-Bats, Groove Cartell, The Famous Unknowns, The Magic Of Princess, Crossing The Tracks, and lots more.
Attendees could get stuck in with the fun earlier this year, at the new comedy night which took place on Thursday night.
