Confirmation that Spalding will have a Poundland store

There is confirmation today that Poundland is coming to Spalding.

The British variety chain, which sells most items at £1, is yet to comment on plans to move into the town.

But a planning application was submitted for the former B&M Store in the Winsover Road Centre two months ago – and now signs have gone up outside the building saying it is "coming soon"and "recruiting".

The bid to install new Poundland signage on the front and back of the empty building was submitted to South Holland District Council in late June.

In May, B&M closed the Winsover Road centre site. It has a larger store in Westlode Street.
