Landlords of Sutton Bridge’s The Anchor Inn to hold casino and cocktail night to raise funds for new pavilion
A fundraising night will be held in a pub to raise money towards a new community pavilion.
Landlords at The Anchor Inn in Sutton Bridge, Jamie Hook and his cousin Robin Hook, are putting on a casino and cocktail night.
All the proceeds will go towards the new sports pavilion building that is needed to replace the current 70-year-old premises and cut cost more than £700,000.
Jamie Hook said: “We want to try and get the pavilion going for the local people.

“We want to help as much as we can with the pavilion – it is important for the families and children – and the youth to find something for them to do.”
Plans for the new Sutton Bridge facilities are underway with a parish council committee working on the project – with a meeting taking place tonight (January 30).
Currently the building, which was built for the Queen’s Coronation, is no longer fit for purpose and the new pavilion will open up opportunities at the site – next to the Curlew Centre – for footballers and community sports such as carpet bowls and netball.
Mr Hook said: “There is no bigger town around close enough to have something.
“We have been to quite a few of the meetings and there are a lot of people who want to help raise funds.
“We want to support it and do our bit.”
Plans for the pavilion include making it a multi-use venue that will benefit not only the football club but the wider community.
Liam Burton is another community member keen for the building to happen.
He manages the adult’s football team and has set up a crowd funder and petition with the hope of jumpstarting the project.
The casino and cocktail night will take place at the pub on Saturday, March 2 at 8pm.
There will be blackjack and roulette with a disco in the bar – and everyone is welcome.
Mr Hook added: “The new pavilion can be used for all sorts – it is quite important for the area.”
