Repairs to historic Ye Olde White Horse in Spalding given approved by South Holland District Council
The owners of a landmark town centre pub will be given permission to fix a crashed-damaged window.
Applicant RN Wooler and Co has been given the green light for repairs to the vacant Ye Olde White Horse pub in Church Gate, Spalding.
They will be rebuilding the bay window – which was damaged in a two-car crash in November - with the work set to include installing new hardwood timber windows and replacing a displaced steel beam with an oak beam.
An officer’s report issued by South Holland District Council said the ‘proposal assists greatly in enhancing and conserving the value and significance of the heritage asset’ and confirmed that listed building consent was now granted for the work.
The 17th century pub building – owned by Samuel Smith’s Brewery – has been shut since 2019.
