Restoration project planned for Holbeach Cemetery Chapels
A pair of historic cemetery chapels were opened in a bid to raise money for a restoration project.
Holbeach Parish Council is hoping to get heritage funding to restore the town’s Cemetery Chapels and organised an open day over the weekend.
More than 30 people went along to the event.
A council statement said: “Attendees expressed overwhelming support for the council’s initiative, sharing a variety of creative ideas for the chapels’ future use. The council plans to launch an online Survey Monkey soon to gather further public input and gauge broader community interest.
“Many parishioners were pleasantly surprised by the chapels’ stunning interiors, which have retained much of their original beauty despite the passage of time. The community eagerly anticipates seeing these historic buildings restored to their former glory, preserving a vital piece of Holbeach’s heritage for future generations.”
