Long Sutton welcomes new Starbucks store

A customer had the honour of officially opening the area's latest coffee shop.

Steve Whitleham cut the ribbon outside the new Starbucks store in Long Sutton earlier this morning (Monday).

Staff were delighted to welcome up to 20 customers to the store, which is next to the A17, shortly after it opened at 8am.

Balloons decorated the front of the store, which is close to the BP Garage, to celebrate the grand opening.

Operations manager Mohit Kadyan was thrilled with the response to the new store, which has a drive-thru and socially distanced eat-in seating.

He said: "We were really pleased with the response from the local community and it was nice to see.

"There were 15 to 20 customers to go in when we first opened the doors. Most of these people were from the local community."

This morning's opening is an important milestone for the franchise, which also operates the Sutterton Starbucks coffee shop.

Construction of the site had been completed earlier this year with the site being handed over to the franchise during March.

Unfortunately, the fitting out of the site had to be delayed due to the lockdown.

This new store has created eight to 10 new jobs for people in the Long Sutton area.
