Mrs Leverton was pleased with the success of the open day and praised the riders who took part.

She said: “They were amazing and did really well. We have been practising for weeks. We also had a lot of clients help with running a cake stall, raffle and tombola.

“We have had some really nice comments from people who said they had fond memories of learning to ride here as a child. We are now having comments from grandmothers who learned to ride here.

“We have progressed and moved with the times - we do offer a lot more than we ever did. We are also bigger.”
