“It’s devastating to lose anyone. Ady was our club physio and one of the nicest blokes in football,” he said.

“We’ve been blessed to have that period with him and to call him part of the club.

“We’re absolutely devastated and he’ll certainly be in our minds all season. We’ll try to do something in his memory.

“He was a big part of the club and a big part of our success, loved by everyone at the club.”

Ady played an important role in United’s Northern Premier League Midlands title win earlier this year, and was at the forefront in the celebrations as the Tulips reached their highest-ever spot in the football pyramid.

“We won the league last year because the club collectively, from top to bottom, did everything right,” Porter added.

“The medical staff and physio team has been hands down the best we’ve ever had at the club.

“It’s been great for the manager (Elliot Sandy) to have them as part of his management team, someone he can have honest conversations with and who he can work with.

“Ady was phenomenal with everything he did with every player. He was a huge integral part of what we did last season.

“He’ll always be a massive loss to us.”

Manager Sandy also paid tribute, writing on social media: “Devastating news to hear.

“What an unbelievable man, I will miss your relentless banter.

“Rest easy my mate.”

An official Tulips statement added: “The club are deeply saddened by the news that club physio Ady Woolley passed away.

“Ady was a true professional and gentleman and a big part of the clubs success last season.

“He leaves a big impression on the club and anyone who had the pleasure to meet him.

“Our heartfelt condolence’s go out to all his family and friends. RIP Ady.”
