John Hayes’ last ‘Hayes in the House’ piece was on an issue which matters to all pet owners and animal lovers.

He eloquently talked about how they are so much more than possessions and really are members of the family.

Which is why I was glad to read in the article that he actually put action to his words and has worked alongside Ian Duncan Smith MP to lay down an amendment in Parliament to create a specific offence to target those disgusting criminals who kidnap pets, and ensure that offence carries real punishment to match the crime.

Not everyone has had pets stolen, but it is a very sensitive matter and, for those who have, including many in Lincolnshire, pet theft is devastating.

Sir John has my personal thanks for taking a particular interest in this issue on our behalf in Parliament, and for being a consistent, active advocate for a stronger justice system which focuses on the victims, not pandering to the criminals.

Who is responsible for this litter?

Could something be done to clear up the litter on the road sides after the grass has been mowed?

It is such an eyesore!

The litter bins in the lay-bys are overflowing and bags of rubbish left beside them.
