University Academy Holbeach reports fourth positive COVID-19 case in 24-hour period




Another student at University Academy Holbeach (UAH) has tested positive for COVID-19, the fourth in the last 24 hours, it has been confirmed today (Friday, December 18).

School leaders at UAH were given the news this morning that a Year 11 student had tested positive for the virus, with parents being informed later that other in the same group would have to self-isolate until Christmas Day.

Executive principal Steve Baragwanath said: "The school was notified this morning, although the child concerned has been off school and self-isolating."

Yesterday, two other Year 11 students, as well as one in Year 7, were also reported to have returned positive tests.

This resulted in students from both year groups being sent home early on the last day of the autumn term.

A Year 11 student at University Academy Long Sutton also tested positive for COVID-19 and a report was made to the school yesterday (Thursday, December 17).
