Long Sutton sensory garden planned to help all generation with mental health and well-being

A sensory garden to promote mental health and wellbeing is planned in a town.

Long Sutton Parish Council is looking to create this facility after being awarded UK Shared Prosperity Funding.

Coun Ivan Thompson discussed the proposal, which is hoped to benefit people of all ages, during the council’s last meeting.

Another idea to use the funding, which comes from the Government Levelling Up programme, is a plan to update the children’s play equipment.

An inspection of the play equipment took place in November and showed that there were minor upgrades needed such as to fix any cracks in the safety surface.

Chairman John Clarey said: “We are happy with the parks which are ready for a cut – when the weather will allow.”
