Spalding sheep statues and town centre given a spruce up




Community minded volunteers have given the town a spruce up earlier this week.

Spalding and District Civic Society members were joined by a team from Transported were busy on Monday removing the pigeon droppings which had splattered the new sheep sculptures in Sheep Market.

The statues of the Lincoln Long Wool Sheep were installed earlier this year along with the Lincoln Red cattle in New Road as part of the MARK-IT trail to celebrate the town’s livestock markets.

The team also took the time to do clean other nearby artworks including the Portrait of the Town plaque and a miniature statue - which had been used as an ashtray.

The society received a 3p donation after the coins were discovered during the work.
