Winner announced of Spalding salon and spa’s festive window design competition

A Spalding salon and spa has unveiled its festive window after inviting primary school pupils to enter a competition to design this year’s display.

A colourful Christmas tree with presents by Skylar, was chosen as the overall winner by the team at Strands Salon & Spa, in Clover Way, and has been recreated in the window by salon staff.

Owner of the award-winning salon Sharon Tear said Skylar’s design stood out because it was colourful and bright and incorporated plenty of salon essentials such as scissors, nail polish, a comb and hairdryer into it.

She added: “With Strands not being in the town centre we miss out on the decorated window competitions, so we thought we’d organise our own this year, and get the community involved. A lot of children pass by the salon and like to look at the displays.

“We invited all the local primary schools to take part and had lots of entries. Skylar’s design was really colourful and something that could be recreated in the window and in keeping with the salon theme.”

As well as seeing her finished design take pride of place, Skylar also received a goodie bag of treats and a voucher for a mini-pamper treatment. Second and third placed entrants, Meghana and Ivy, received a goodie bag from the salon too.
