Pony, snake and even some bees were blessed at Quadring church pet service
All creatures great and small were seen in a village church during a special pets service over the weekend.
A snake, a pony and even a small hive of bees were among the pets brought along to St Margaret’s Church in Quadring on Sunday for the event.
Led by the Rev Ian Walters, the service included hymns such as All Things Bright and Beautiful and the Animals Went in Two by Two. Everyone enjoyed the hymns and one dog also joined in.
Representatives from Three Counties Dog Rescue, which is based near Bourne, went along to the service to share more about their work.
Mr Walters went onto bless the animals, including Count Olaf the boa constrictor, lots of dogs and even some of the bees which had been removed from the church earlier in the year.
Refreshments were served afterwards which allowed people to learn more about the bees and handle the handle the snake.
Jane Iszatt, chair of St Margaret's Parochial Church Council said "The pet service was great fun and encouraged lots of conversations over a cup of tea and fairy cakes.
“It was community as its best. We hope we can do it again next year"
