South Holland and Deepings Conservatives launch election bid

South Holland and the Deepings Conservatives have launched their general election campaign.

Conservative candidate Sir John Hayes said “I’m honoured to have been chosen, once again, by local Conservatives to continue my work standing up for our country – it’s proud past, present and future – and speaking up for local people, as I have year in, year out.

“Politicians shouldn’t just turn up at elections. It’s the daily, weekly and monthly work between them that counts.

“Nothing humbles me more than the good I have been able to do for thousands of individuals and families.

“In thanking all those who have been my constituents, I ask now for their vote so to continue my parliamentary and local work.”

Sir John has held the seat since it was created, in 1997. He won the 2019 vote with 75.9%, of the vote and a majority of more than 30,000.

The people vying with him for the seat this time are:

- Jack Braginton (Liberal Democrats)

- Rhys Baker (Green)

- Mark Le Sage (Independent)

- Matt Swainson (Reform)
