Youngsters raise hundreds for charities
Year 8 students at Spalding High School have raised hundreds of pounds for charity as part of their Personal, Social, Health and Citizenship Education programme.
Form 8J chose Cancer Research and Dogs Trust, with a ‘Milkshakes and Mocktails’ stall raising around £60. Student Tabitha did a Tetrathlon (1,500m run, swimming for three minutes as far as you can, shooting one handed, seven metres from the target and then riding a cross-country course on your horse, jumping 90cm jumps) which raised £185.
Form 8N chose the RSPCA, the local Callum Pite Smile Charity and Agape food and water charity. They raised £125.85 through cake sales, Easter sales and a Halloween sale.
Form 8P raised about £240 to support the RSPCA, Cancer Research and The Alzheimer’s Society. They held seasonal bake sales, ran a ‘Guess the name of the teddy’ stall along with sponsored silences and a craft sale.
Form 8S fundraised for Mind, Focus, The Dr Hadwen Trust and Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital and made £500 with cake stalls and quizzes.
Form 8C raised money for Cancer Research UK, Leicester Children’s Hospital and the Stroke Association.
