Spalding Pumpkin Festival date announced

Live entertainment, sculptures and a artisan market are all part of the fun planned for this year’s Pumpkin Festival.

This year’s festival will be taking place on Saturday, October 7, when Spalding town centre will be filled with a host of autumnal fun for all the family.

South Holland District Council’s communities team has unveiled some of the attractions which will be on offer during this year’s event.

A social media post states: “There will be live entertainment from the stage and fabulous street entertainers, a chance to meet Cinderella and listen to her perform live from our Pumpkin stage outside the South Holland Centre.

“Have a go at our free craft activities, support our fabulous Saturday Market traders and local businesses, have a race on our ride on pedal tractors, take part in the harvest fancy dress competition. Shop till you drop at the artisan craft, gift and food stalls that will be joining the market.

“Try your luck on a fun game and support a local charity on one of their stalls.

“Take a stroll down 'Pumpkin Street' to see the beautiful pumpkin sculptures created by local artist Jonathan Nicholls and team. Enjoy a photo opportunity in our Autumnal globe and have a go at creating your very own vegetable critter plus so much more.

“Don’t forget to visit Broad Street Methodist Church between 10am and 1pm to join in with their free craft session or relax at their coffee morning as they join the Pumpkin Festivities too!”

The festival will run from 11am to 3pm.
