Holbeach care home residents enjoy staycation fun

Residents at Beech Lodge Care Home in Holbeach have been enjoying a month-long staycation during July.

They have taken part in travel-based activities, reminiscing and international-themed days, complete with special celebration menus.

Home manager Karen Atillo said: "Few of us will be jetting off anywhere exotic this year, so we thought we’d bring some holiday vibes to our home.”

Families of residents were asked to get involved by sending in photos of their favourite holiday destinations, and staff and residents enjoyed reminiscing about their favourite holiday memories and travels.

Residents also tried food from abroad, with a favourite the Caribbean-themed menu with jerk chicken, rice and peas, spiced kebabs and a stunning fruit platter. They also had a French-themed day with wine, cheese and crepes.
