University Academy Long Sutton student dresses as Rudolph the red nosed reindeer for Queen Elizabeth Hospital King’s Lynn fundraiser
An academy student has gone down in history dressed as Rudolph the red nosed reindeer for his last Christmas at the school.
Osten Woodhouse,15, got into costume for a good reason on his final day of term at University Academy of Long Sutton to raise funds for the children’s ward at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, King’s Lynn.
The hospital is close to the teenager’s heart as medical staff helped him when he was admitted onto the ward several times when he was younger.
Osten said: “Before the age of eight I was in the children’s ward for three different reasons.
“At six months old I was in the intensive care unit with pneumonia and bronchiolitis and two further times, once for surgery.
“The children’s wards were amazing and not only supported me but also mum and dad.”
Osten has set up a Just Giving page which has reached £120 and is hoping to encourage more donations.
He added: “I would now like to support the children’s ward so they can continue to do a great job.”
His fundraising will help to support the hospital by enhancing and extending the quality of care, treatment, services and facilities for their patients.
Donations will also benefit research, staff training and education.
