Spalding Lions Club organises free fun day at Roger Tuby & Son funfair for youngsters with Special Education Needs (SEN)

Youngsters who have special educational needs (SEN) and their teachers will enjoy a free fun day at the fair.

Spalding Lions Club has invited SEN schools to the Roger Tuby & Son Funfair when it comes to the town later this week.

The kids enjoy all the fun of the fair to themselves and the speed of the rides, loud music and flashing lights are adjusted to suit the youngsters’ needs.

Julie Grant, club vice president, said: “We have been inviting children from SEN schools for many years now, thanks to the kind hospitality of Roger Tuby, his family and team.

“Giving the children a couple of hours at the fair is important, as we know, from talking with the schools and families, that many of the children would not get this exciting opportunity otherwise.

“We get so much pleasure from seeing and hearing how excited the children are when they arrive. The only tears we see are from the children who don't want to leave.”

The fair is in Spalding from Thursday, October 17- Monday, October, 21 and the SEN school children will enjoy their day on October 17.

Spalding Lions Club welcomes new members - they meet every first and third Wednesday of the month at 7.30pm at the Constitutional Club, Broad Street in Spalding.
