Crowland Parish Council is looking for a buyer for this building
A parish council is hoping to find a buyer for an unwanted building – at the cost of just £1.
Crowland Parish Council says the sectional building at the Snowden Field is now no longer needed and are offering it up for sale.
The building, which had been bought by the contractor which built the A16 bypass, had been used as a facility for youngsters but is now a financial burden.
A council spokesman said: “The building was installed 12 years ago to provide a dedicated facility for young people but the withdrawal of financial support from Lincolnshire County Council and the loss of qualified volunteers, on top of changing attitudes to leisure by the young, means that its use has drastically reduced in recent times, thereby becoming a financial burden on the council and rate paying parishioners.
“The sectional building is approximately 15 years old, having been bought initially by the A16 road contractors. The structure is believed to be relatively sound, though the roof covering is showing signs of deterioration. The interior is clean, with a good carpet floor and small kitchen area.

“The buyer will need to split the building into three sections and remove it from the site wholly at their own expense, and at their own risk. All offers over £1 will be considered, and an early removal would be beneficial. The buyer would need to satisfy themselves of the suitability of the structure, as no warranty is given nor implied.”
