Gedney Drove End explosion - three men taken to hospital




Three men have been taken to hospital with injuries after an explosion in Gedney Drove End today.

Emergency services, including an air ambulance, were called to the village at 10.53am.

Paramedics treated the injured men at the scene and they were then taken to hospital.

One of the men is believed to have been seriously injured, but a Lincolnshire Police spokesman said it was "not thought to be life-threatening".

The other two men are thought to have been less seriously injured.

Police officers are currently at the scene and an Explosive Ordnance Disposal team are expected there to make the area safe.

The incident, described by the police spokesman as a "small explosion" has been referred to the Health and Safety Executive whose spokesman said: "We are aware of the incident and we are liaising with the police."
