Former Spalding High School student wins Outstanding Sporting Achievement award




A teenager who was dubbed a sporting role model for others has received a Lincolnshire Free Press and Spalding Guardian Education Award.

Former Spalding High School student Tilly Garfoot received the Outstanding Sporting Achievement Award at last night's ceremony at the town's Springfields Event and Exhibition Centre.

Tilly, who is taking a gap year before heading to America on a golf scholarship, has a host of titles to her name, including Girls Golf Rocks ambassador and Lincolnshire County Junior Captain.

Tilly could not be there but the award was picked up by headmistress Michele Anderson from sponsor Lt Col Keith Spires of The Desert Rats

She said: "Tilly would be thrilled to bits. This is a well deserved award."

Runners-up were brothers Toby and Jacob Bush.
