Heroes Gym in Pinchbeck, gears up to celebrate a special 10 year anniversary with members and staff
A passionate fitness coach who says ‘the gym is the new pub’ is gearing up to celebrate 10 years of business.
Heroes Gym in Pinchbeck, will be hosting a special celebration for members and fitness coaches in December, as a thank you for their continued support.
Gym owner of the family run business, Vernon Gay, 48, of Spalding, said he feels excited to see what the future brings. He added: “It’s exciting that we’ve been here for ten years – we love it.
“We love our members and there is definitely a family feel in the gym. We will be having a ten year anniversary celebration on Tuesday, December 3, at the gym, to say thank you to all of our members who have supported us for so many years. There will be gifts for the people who have been with us for the whole journey but everyone is invited to attend.”
After losing his business partner and friend, Scott Miller, seven years ago, Vernon is keen to continue helping people and pushing them to complete their goals.
He said: “I started the business with a business partner of mine, Scott Miller. I don’t like to call it my own gym, I always say it’s everybody's gym because it does still feel strange without Scott.
“We’ve helped loads of people and changed so many lives. The gym is like a new pub these days. People come here to train and it’s almost a new way to socialise and everyone is a lot more health conscious these days. There is a problem with obesity but there are also a lot of people who are more healthier.
“I think sport and health should be pushed more, especially but the government – any form of exercise you can do is all positive because it has a massive effect on your health, mental wellbeing and you do generally feel better afterwards.”
