Works to fix 'dip' in Spalding road cause closure

Work is being carried out to try to fix a 'dip' in Halmergate, Spalding - with the repairs likely to take until Thursday.

The road is currently closed while Anglian Water carries out work near the junction with Holland Road.

The closure is impacting on the afternoon school bus run in the town - with buses unable to pick pupils up from Spalding Academy as usual.

Brylaine Travel says students will instead catch the bus home from Spalding High School.

Both schools have been informed of the change of plans.

The bus operator's usual town service is also being diverted as a result of the closure. Buses are heading along Church Street, along the river to Twin Bridges and then back along Commercial Road and Albert Street before meeting their usual route.

This is not the only work being carried out by Anglian Water today - with The Crescent also shut to traffic.
