Mr Pinchbeck Chris Schofield honoured with tractor run
A community stalwart was honoured over the weekend with a successful tractor run.
Chris Schofield - who was well-known as Mr Pinchbeck and for supporting numerous good causes in the village including the popular carnival - sadly passed away last year at the age of 84.
So his friends organised a fitting tribute to the flower grower - by organising a tractor run on Sunday.
Vice-chairman of Pinchbeck Carnival John Pailing said: “Chris was synonymous with his Masey Ferguson tractor coming through the village. Everyone used to see him with his high vis-jacket.
“It was the first of many that we will hold every year in memory of Chris.
And among the 22 classic tractors which set off from Birchgrove Garden Centre in Pinchbeck was one of Mr Schofield’s Masey Ferguson’s - which had also been used in previous Pinchbeck Carnival.
The 12-mile route, which started and finished at the garden centre, was supported by spectators who turned out to wave as the tractors went past.
The best tractor entry was awarded to Stephen Kitchen.
