Gosberton woman and London man arrested and charged after man assaulted at Spalding hotel
Two people have been arrested and charged after a man was assaulted at a hotel earlier this week.
A man was taken to hospital after being injured in an incident at the Travelodge Hotel at Springfields Outlet Centre, Spalding at around 9.45pm on Tuesday. Police say his injuries are not life-threatening and he remains in hospital.
Police say that a short time later, a man and woman were ‘found in the water’ along Holbeach Road and are now appealing for witnesses who stopped to help.
Leanne Thornton, 42, of Low Gate in Gosberton and 24-year-old Danny Lodge of Bishops Way in London were arrested.
Both were charged with causing grievous bodily harm and assaulting an emergency worker. Lodge has also been charged with perverting the course of justice.
Earlier today, Lodge and Thornton were remanded into custody until their next hearing.
A force spokesman said: “We are also appealing for other witnesses to come forward if they haven't yet been in touch.
“If you witnessed the incident, or have any other information that can help with our investigation, please contact investigating officer DC Emily Parker Emily.Parker@lincs.police.uk quoting incident 539 of 24 June.”
