South Holland Centre Spalding hosts Variety Comedy Night in aid of South Holland District Council chairman’s two charities Spalding Mencap and Blood Cancer UK
A second comedy and variety night will be happening at a town’s theatre to raise funds for a councillor’s chosen charities.
The South Holland Centre in Spalding will host another Variety Comedy Night which supports Blood Cancer UK and Spalding Mencap, two charities meaningful to South Holland District Council’s chairman Andrew Woolf.
This year’s show will see MC Zeph Churchill keep together the proceedings with wit and skill as seen in January’s show as Jason Simmons and Michael Hayward-Salvadori return to the stage.
Coun Woolf said: “The first Variety Comedy Night we put on at the start of the year was brilliant and everyone who came along had such a great night. This next event promises to be just as good - if not better - and I’m really looking forward to it.
“We have great acts booked, and I know they will have the crowd laughing their socks off.
“Last time, I think people were gutted to have missed out so I would advise them to get booked in now to avoid disappointment.
“There are tickets still available which can be bought from the South Holland Centre either in the box office or online – they’re only £15 and the money is going to both of my chairman’s charities.”
“It’s going to be a great night in aid of two brilliant causes which are very close to my heart.”
Zeph Churchill is a retired NHS nurse from Spalding currently touring the UK with her one woman show about menopause that keeps the audience ‘engaged, relaxed and belly laughing’ while delivering a serious message.
At the first show in January, first timer Michael Hayward-Salvadori took to the stage in his debut stand up performance and wowed the crowd with his jokes and he will be performing a longer set this time.
Destined for the bright lights of mediocrity he attempts to make sense of his life and the world and a hilarious glimpse inside the mind of a man who ponders the meaning of his existence.
Hypnotist Jason Simmons also featured last year and is returning with a longer set to entertain the audience.
Jason travels the country with his hilarious set which combines magic and humour and he forms a great rapport with his audience.
There will be a guest appearance during the show which aims to prove laughter is the best medicine by raising funds for two worthwhile charities.
The show, which takes place on Saturday, August 24, and lasts two and a half hours should bring hilarious unexpected twists and may contain adult content.
