Cowbit villagers sitting pretty as new seating as part of £20,000 hall makeover arrives
Members of the public will be sitting pretty thanks to a £20,000 cheque.
Cowbit Village Hall was able to secure new seating as well as a new porch and lighting thanks to funding via the UK Shared Prosperity Fund last year.
And now the hall has taken stock of some much-needed chairs.
“Our residents can sit down and raise a glass with the purchase of chairs with money from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund,” said Darren Harper, chairman of Cowbit Village Hall,
“They were particularly requested by some of our community groups that have older residents and find it difficult to get in and out of chairs without arm support.
"!One group is our tea@two, which meets at the Cowbit Village Hall on the first Tuesday of every month for tea, coffee and cake - it’s a great opportunity for residents to meet up for a chat especially as some of them live on their own and don’t see another human face all day.”
The funds were applied for by Mr Harper, who was thrilled at receiving £20,000 of funding going towards projects with Cowbit and the Village Hall.
