August's Virtual Jobs Fair, which took place as a result of the cancellation of the usual physical event due to COVID-19. promoted more than 70 different opportunities in the area over the course of three hours.

There was also a range of helpful information about services, such as the Government's "Job Help" campaign.

The event reached over 26,000 people across the three social media channels, with more than 400 people taking the time to find out more information about the opportunities and providing positive feedback.

With this in mind, the council is now looking to make them a more regular event and Coun Drury said: "The run up to Christmas is always a busy time for both residents and businesses, especially this year.

"So it seems like the perfect time for the council to hold this event and help people to find the perfect fit for their opportunity or personal needs, while assisting businesses in finding the staff they need.

"I would encourage everyone to have a look and follow along on the day, share the opportunities and browse the wide variety of roles available across numerous sectors in the district.

"I hope it will provide a valuable resource for everybody during these difficult times that we are in."

. Residents and businesses are able to visit the district council’s Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn pages to find out more information about the South Holland Virtual Jobs Fair and join in on Friday, October 23, from 11am till 2pm.
