Musician praised after stepping in last minute to perform at ‘Sunday Music at Ayscoughfee’ event in Spalding

A musician has been praised after stepping in at the last minute to perform for a new community event.

Organisers of ‘Sunday Music at Ayscoughfee’ hosted their first show at the weekend – and onlookers didn’t let the weather dampen the mood.

The event took place in Ayscoughfee Hall Museum and Gardens in Spalding, and saw dedicated visitors watching musician, Jordan Ravenhill, under umbrellas in the rain.

Councillors Mark Le Sage, David Ashby and Ingrid Sheard want it to become a monthly event.

Mark said: “This Sunday welcomed a return of music in the park. We would like to thank Jordan Ravenhill, who stepped in last minute after the booked brass band had to cancel.

“It was lovely to see so many people enjoying themselves in the beautiful setting of Ayscoughfee Gardens.”

‘Sunday Music at Ayscoughfee’ was created to bring old traditions, such as live performances from brass bands, back to the historic site.

A second event is due to take place on Sunday, October 6, and it will return in 2025 between May and September.
