Warning signs around Pinchbeck dip in the road

Warning signs have been placed around a significant dip in the road in an industrial estate - but highways bosses denied it is a sinkhole.

Motorists have to slow down to pass the very large dip which has appeared in Enterprise Way, Pinchbeck.

Karen Cassar, assistant director for highways, said: “A highways officer visited site today and confirmed that, although there is presently a dip in the carriageway on Enterprise Way, there is no sinkhole.

“As a matter of course, Anglian Water have been contacted to check their apparatus and we will be carrying out a survey of the surface water system in the coming weeks. If this becomes a bigger issue, we will look at installing temporary traffic lights here.

“In the meantime, warning signs are in place and we ask people to drive safely along Enterprise Way.”

Lincolnshire County Council and Anglian Water have spent millions of pounds resolving a significant dip in Boston Road South in Holbeach.
